An efficient network of roads, highways and flyovers along with a smooth traffic system make driving a car in Dubai a real pleasure. A valid UAE/ international driving license is a must. Knowing the traffic and penalty laws and the road toll (Salik) rules is essential for all drivers.  Road signage in green is used for the main locations within Dubai, blue signage shows the directions of other emirates, while brown is used to indicate landmarks, and white is used to indicate street names.

The Dubai government has introduced mParking Service through the mobile phone to ease payment of parking fees. The service can be used at all paid parking zones in the emirate.Dubai roadmaps are available to provide navigational assistance. There are plenty of car rental services available for varying budgets and needs. In case you have hired a car, do note that most petrol stations in Dubai do not accept credit cards, so keep your cash ready.
