Both of our private cruise charters put the entire boat in your hands — no other guests, no shared schedule, full control over the evening. The real decision between them comes down to three things: how many people you're hosting, how much flexibility you need on timing, and the atmosphere you want as the backdrop. Here's exactly how the Private Dhow and Private Catamaran compare.
The Private Dhow Rental holds up to 150 guests and starts from 3,500 AED. The Private Catamaran Rental holds up to 200 guests and starts from 5,000 AED. For a wedding or corporate event where your guest list is close to either cap, this alone often settles the decision — there's no point paying for the larger boat if your Dhow-sized guest list fits comfortably, and no point squeezing a 180-person wedding onto a boat rated for 150.

Here's something worth knowing before you book either one: both private charters currently default to a late boarding slot — 22:30, departing at 23:00, back at 1:00 AM. This is because the earlier evening slots are held for our shared dinner cruises, so private charters are scheduled around them.
The difference is what happens if that timing doesn't work for you. The Catamaran Rental is listed as a flexible, hourly charter that can be tailored to your schedule, so an earlier slot is realistic if you contact us directly. The Dhow Rental doesn't advertise this same flexibility by default — if your event needs a specific earlier time, it's worth confirming directly with our team before you assume either option will accommodate it.
This is the same split that runs through all our cruises: the Dhow is a traditional wooden boat with an Arabian aesthetic, while the Catamaran is modern, glass-walled, and closer to a five-star venue. For a themed cultural event, a henna night, or anything leaning into Emirati heritage, the Dhow's look does a lot of the decorating work for you. For a corporate launch, a modern wedding, or a brand activation where you want clean, contemporary photos, the Catamaran's glass walls and open layout give you a more neutral canvas to build on.

Neither charter includes food, drinks, decorations, or entertainment in the base price — these are genuinely private, blank-canvas rentals, not pre-packaged party boats. The base price covers the boat itself, the captain and crew, and full use of both decks (open-air upper deck, air-conditioned lower deck) for your rental window. Buffet catering, beverage packages, alcohol, event decor, and live entertainment are all arranged separately once you get in touch, which is what makes full menu and decoration customization possible in the first place.
Once you know your guest count and how fixed your timing is, the choice usually comes down to one of these:

What's the maximum group size for each private charter?
The Private Dhow holds up to 150 guests, and the Private Catamaran holds up to 200 guests. If your guest list is above 150, the Catamaran is the only option that accommodates it.
Can I book an earlier time slot than 22:30?
Both charters currently default to a 22:30 boarding time since earlier slots are reserved for shared dinner cruises. The Catamaran is advertised as a flexible, hourly rental, so an earlier time is worth requesting directly. For the Dhow, contact our team to confirm whether an earlier slot is possible for your date.
Is food included in the price?
No. Both private charters cover the boat, captain, and crew only — buffet catering, drinks, decorations, and entertainment are arranged separately so you can customize the event to your event's needs and budget.
Which one is better for a wedding?
It depends on your guest count and theme. For a smaller, culturally-themed wedding under 150 guests, the Dhow's traditional setting works well. For a larger or more contemporary wedding up to 200 guests, the Catamaran's modern glass-walled interior gives you more flexibility with styling.
